Meet Seana Isaac

Entering her final year of PA school, Seana was thriving in every way. In her own words, “I felt on top of the world; focusing on self-love, my studies, and self-improvement. I had everything set up to have an amazing last year of school.”

Going with the theme of self-improvement, Seana decided it was time to get an eye exam due to headaches she was experiencing after long days of working and studying.  What started as an innocent eye doctor’s appointment turned into something unimaginable. In the days following her eye exam she was experiencing double vision with no reason why.

Testing her eyes for misalignment in the bathroom mirror, she realized her left eye had gone lazy, causing her to see 2 separate images of everything in sight. Her parents took her to Wills Eye ED once she completed her last day of her first clinical rotation on August 31,2023.  Recalling that day with a light-hearted humor, Serena said, “It just so happened that this was the same day I got a haircut, so luckily I looked good at the hospital”.

On September 1, 2023, Seana received an MRI, and after a long night of testing, she was informed that there was a mass in the pons of her brain stem.  Seana had DIPG.  Seana had a biopsy on September 13, 2023, and underwent 6 weeks of radiation. They are currently waiting to enter a clinical trial.

To know Seana is to love her. From the moment of diagnosis she has been surrounded by so many friends and family which shows just how special she is.

Seana loves to learn, hang out with friends, anything creative and musical . Seana has been a competitive Irish dancer since the age of 4 and to this day enjoys going to the studio!

She is now at home with her mom, Sharon, her dad, Ken, and her beloved four legged sisters Lucy and Darby.
